Overview & Highlights

Nestled in the heart of Orthez, O'Garage - Brasserie is a delightful culinary gem that captures the essence of traditional French cuisine with a modern twist. Located at 1 Av. du President Kennedy, this charming brasserie invites you to savor an authentic French dining experience in a warm, inviting setting where the atmosphere strikes a perfect balance—lively yet comfortably intimate.

The menu is a celebration of classic flavors crafted from high-quality ingredients, expertly prepared to tantalize every sense. Start your meal with tempting entrées such as the silky Oeuf Mayonnaise (€4.00), the velvety Velouté du moment (€4.00), or indulge in the richly flavored 1/2 Pied de cochon sauce gribiche (€9.50) that melts on the palate with its delicate, tangy sauce. Seafood lovers will appreciate the freshly grilled Chipirons à la plancha en persillade (€14.00), bursting with herbal brightness and just the right hint of garlic, while the Assiette de Charcuterie (€9.50) offers a generous selection of cured meats that pair wonderfully with a glass of local wine.

For mains, the Salade César (€16) is a star, combining crisp iceberg lettuce, perfectly cooked hard-boiled eggs, tender breaded chicken, and shavings of parmesan enveloped in a luscious homemade Caesar dressing—comforting yet fresh. Customers often praise the impeccable quality of both meat and fish, reflecting the chef’s dedication to excellence and attention to detail.

The dining room exudes a casual yet sophisticated vibe. The staff, described by patrons as friendly, attentive, and patient—especially with language barriers—add to the conviviality that makes guests feel truly welcome. Whether you’re enjoying an intimate lunch or a relaxed evening meal, the ambiance maintains just the right volume to encourage conversation without overwhelm, creating a soothing backdrop for your culinary journey.

O'Garage’s dessert selection is equally enticing. Indulge in the classic Tarte Tatin Maison (€7.00) with its caramelized apple richness, or experience pure decadence in the Coeur coulant chocolat noir (€7.00)—a velvety dark chocolate lava cake that leaves a lasting impression. The Café Gourmand (€8.00), featuring an assortment of petite sweets paired with coffee, is frequently hailed as a highlight, delivering a delightful finale to your meal.

Moreover, the brasserie’s distinctive array of ice cream sundaes—like the creamy Affogato or the indulgent Coupe Irlandaise—offer a playful and refreshing twist perfect for winding down or celebrating special moments.

What truly sets O'Garage apart is not just the quality of its menu but the genuine warmth of its service and atmosphere. Guests consistently highlight the attentive and welcoming staff, who add an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal with their professionalism and smiles. Whether you’re a local or a visitor exploring the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region, O'Garage promises a satisfying and memorable culinary experience, skillfully blending tradition with a contemporary, friendly ethos.

Simply excellent. You can pick anything on the menu blind and it will be wonderful. Fish or meat: quality of the ingredients is there and the chef is fab. The food looks as good as it tastes as well. Good ambience, not too loud and nice staff.

Lovely place to pop in for lunch. Friendly and attentive staff, food is your typical French cuisine.

Good food, however this is not an Irish pub. I came expecting to watch the football and was disappointed!
